texas is a land of madness. whoever was playing simcity obviously just used the cheat code to get a billion dollars and then just doodled on the map instead of doing any actual planning.

i'm sitting on the floor typing because most of my furniture isn't delivered until new year's. the apartment feels sort of empty at the moment. all the videogames are lined up along the wall.

daphaknee is in my bed, sleeping off a very red ass.

hi dess, I think I'm ready to start my videogame blog but I don't know where to put it. any suggestions?

hi daphny I watched the wire with christopher for the first time, and it's a pretty good show I think!

I think a lot. perhaps that is my fatal flaw! tell me more about your adventures in texas thus far dess and/or daphny if you're so inclined.

hi cycle, do you play marathong anymore?

i used to live in san antonio

my texas experience has been: roads are nice and usually well-maintained, best mexican food you'll find outside of california, and last i checked michael moorcock lived somewhere within the state (unless he's buggered off back to england).

gene wolfe's still there.

and now, dessgeega

oh, sometimes west texas gets snow.

we got furniture today. my apartment is very charming. we still have to mount the studded black leather mirror on the wall; it's so heavy that it needs four nails. i'd take pictures (or have the slut take pictures), but i left my camera cable in new york. it's getting here on thursday. so you can all see then.

i met some of my classmates at a new year's party. they seem like industry goons who only ever talk about bioware and blizzard. but i havn't had the chance to interact with them in a classroom yet, so i could (hopefully) be wrong.

i had the slut take some photos of the new place.

big old couch. the "coffee table" is actually a wooden chest with metal locks. it's big and loud and scary, so i'm using it to hold my toys.

better view of the chest. taizo and susumu hori lounge nearby.

here's the television.

still life with pretzels.

studded leather mirror.

Dess, if that mirror was like brown and white spotted leather so it looked straight up like cow skin it would be the most Texas thing in your apartment.

also the still life looks like a mystery. where is the razor? why is there a camera in the picture? hmmm?

the mirror is real leather. it's probably the only real leather i own, and i bought it used from a clearance furniture warehouse. i figured i could probably give the best home out of anyone who would have wandered through there.

hey, there was a party tonight with way more people. some of my classmates are actually cool! what a relief.

i believe those pretzels are just ready to go in the oven. note their sheen, as i've just wet them so the salt will stick.
