Anyone know any tips on how to get your hands on a Wii these days? I'm going to check a couple stores after school today.
I'd really like one by the time Galaxy comes out. _________________ Like you thought you'd seen copter perverts before. They were nothing compared to this one. |

I didn't realize that they were still hard to get! That's crazy. _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”

Yeah. Getting less so, but Agnes only found one by luck, a couple of weeks ago, because they happened to be delivered just before she walked into the store.
They still typically sell out within a few hours of delivery, everywhere. _________________

Yeah, it's a matter of hitting the store after delivery -- if there's a Target in your area, they generally take deliveries around noon on weekdays, so it can be worth it to go by one around 1 or so and see if they have any in. |

Can anyone recall another console with supply problems a full year after release? _________________

I ended up buying mine off ebay a few months after it was released after checking stores in the surrounding area in the interim and coming up with nothing. I went by a GameStop right after they opened a few weeks back and there was someone there already waiting for one. A truck had brought in 6 that didn't make the last shipment, and the workers were commenting that they don't keep them in for more than half an hour when they actually get some in. _________________ Come to me, Mordel. Best Buy has a Reward Zone Member's only shopping night at a few stores in all major cities. They're opening up at 8:30 on Sunday and are promising 30 Wiis per store. If you get in line at 6ish and are a reward zone member you're probably guaranteed one?

i sold mine, unboxed, complete, from launch, on ebay for exactly what it'd cost plus the value of the points thus far spent ($50), a month or so ago.
for what that's worth. |

Can't you preorder or reserve one from the next shipment? Or did they only do that for the launch? _________________ PSN: Twitch_City ||| Wii: 8083 5371 5767 6700

There use to be a website that tracked Wii shipments closer to the time of launch, thought I don't know if it's still around...
Also, it may only have been for California because when I looked at it that was all I seemed to have seen. _________________ “The average man has a secret desire to be a swaggering, drunken, fighting, raping swashbuckler.”

Of all the stores, the only one that I've heard of that lets you reserve one from the next shipment is Game Crazy. |

There is only a Wii drought on the coasts. It's where the Wii I buy always end up getting shipped to. I find them in nearly every store I go.
I bet that will change when I actually want one for my own (i.e. Smash Brawl arrives) since I predict it will be the ebay darling of this Xmas season (again). It will carry that momentum to Easter.
I don't really think it's as much of a supply problem as it's claimed. Anyone with a product would rather have a shortage (allowing for high [desperate, sustained] demand) instead of flooding the market and devaluing their own product by a wide availability.
I know it's worked for me in tracking down old games like Tactics Ogre for PSX. This being from a few years back, in my collecting days. Took me so long to find it, I didn't mind paying the $70 to own it. Whereas at first glance such a high price for a videogame disgusted me. |

my friend is selling his wii because demand is HIGH with christmas coming up, and lots of people are making a tidy profit on ebay. _________________

Yeah also you were the pussy that went and slept in the car while I stayed in the cold all night playing that Yoshi game for the DS where he makes that noise that was irritating you while he floats. |
