That old man at the end is awesome.

Uhm, we should put these together for break time?

Ha ha, no, it's not Chris Kohler. It's my representation of the mouth-breathers I was having to deal with. Shaper, the old man is Shang Tsung. :-(

ApM, there isn't anything to explain. It was a random sketch onto which I tacked a bad pun.

This is one of those moments where I'd hang back for a second, super psyched about what I was seeing but trying not to show, waiting for someone else to acknowledge just how rad that is before I gushed. Hot Topic apparel, you have me too paranoid.

hey, what does "mouth-breather" mean? i assume it indicates a person who breathes through the mouth, but why is this associated with NERD RAGE sort of things?

An insult due to the other person sounding and looking funny/stupid due to having to use their mouth so much.

Two asides to this: 1.) I had an old college counselor who breathed through his mouth, which did make a horrible gurgling sound and he did look ridiculous, but he was also a giant dick, so I can see how it applies; 2.) My nose tends to be stopped up so I breathe through my mouth a lot, therefore the insult is silly and I have no clue why people use it. (Insert frowning icon here.)

I'd say it's associated with nerds because it's just an easy way to be snide. But like when someone in highschool screams "Jock!!" it's not that big of a deal and doesn't mean all that much. Blah blah, you take this because you're clearly below me and my likes and dislikes, blaaaaarrgghh.

Mouth breather is one of those outdated medical terms to classify children that no-one really uses any more in a serious context, like 'moron'. I saw it in an old textbook one day. If the concept isn't commonly taught, it's probably because it's very harsh and a sure-fire way to give kids complexes.

" Kids that are mouth breathers will always have chapped lips and typically the line separating the inner lining of the lip and the outside lining , known as the vermilion border, will be visible. Also mouth breathers in profile tend to have very weak chins and elongated faces. Typically these individuals will suffer from chronic sinusitis or sinus infections, colds, respiratory problems and lung-related issues"

Now that you know what to look for, you will probably see mouth-breathers everywhere you look!

Wow, in-depth mouth-breather discussion. That's awesome.

Lovin' the Kungtroid; it sounds like a very nasty virus.

Now that I've finished Metroid Prime 3, I can get back to the other Metroid 1 illustration I did.

Depending on how well you know your Capcom trivia and your war memorials, this could be funny and/or in poor taste!

Also, I'd like to draw it better, but that was just a quick go at it last night at 2am after thinking it up.

Also Lestrade, I stole one of your pictures. I mean, you got the quote right and everything!

I found a study I'd made in the back of my sketchbook of Link pulling back his slingshot (which I made because I was using it for reference for another drawing) and I decided to work it up into a more finished ink drawing:

Oh yeah, also BUNNY CRUSADE

Inspired by HeXen to the point of actually using a screenshot as reference. Was going to only be two colours but I found a really nice gray that suits fog perfectly.

Wow, bad-ass. Bad-ass effect is doubled because Hexen is my favorite game of that era by far.

What did you use to make that image?

Months later, I'm still kind of bitter about a PaRappa hat that literally slipped through my fingers.

I just got distracted looking at sweet videogame hats. Some seem a bit... unfortunately designed?

Unrelated, but Rosemarie Fiore has some nice long exposure photographs on her site.

This is based on No More Heroes character art, so I guess it fits here? Mainly I was just trying out this pack of screentones I downloaded.

Here's the original.

I checked the website, and wow, they've updated the character bios. I thought Travis Touchdown was a stupid name, but I'd reckoned without hearing about Destroy Man, Thunder Ryu, Dr. Peace, and Death Metal.

Whoa, haven't been here in a while. There is some nice stuff!

So, check it: I just finished Silent Hill Origins last night and was very much in the "Silent HIll mood." I walked outside to go to work this morning and almost ran into this random cage on the sidewalk, which freaked the shit out of me, because I thought I had played too much Silent Hill and was losing my mind. I took a snapshot with my phone:

Here comes the Otherworld

So I was bored at work and turned the image into what it looked like in my head at the time:

The Otherworld is upon us

The sign is supposed to say, "Go Home James."

Then I dug into my phone and pulled out some subway photos I had taken recently, again with random debris in them. Thus a normal subway station shot became this:

Otherworld - Subway

I'm really happy with the floor.

What do y'all think? I've got more photos I could "do up" if you're interested.
