So what other third-party characters would really work and belong in Brawl? And what kind of suggestive pictures do you suggest go up on the site?

Mega Man is an obvious one. He would work sort of like Kirby, except he would only get an opponent's ability after defeating him or her. I suggest a picture of Zero Suit Samus goosing him with her whip.

Bonk is another one who would really smooth over some old differences, and would reflect what's going on with the Virtual Console. Perhaps he could bite Peach on the hip?

I think we need a Namco character in here (who has appeared on a Nintendo system). God, not an anthropomorphized Pac-Man, though. Or a fighting game character.

Fuck Sonic off, Alex Kidd would be a better choice.

He hasn't appeared on a Nintendo console.

Except the virtual one.

He knows kung-fu though, and can shoot hadokens from his ring. All Sonic does is roll around, run from things and has SEGA continually ruin his career. Alex got away from all that, he had smarts.

I think both Wonder Boy and Master Higgins should be in the game.

(Though again, Wonder Boy -- not Nintendo! Poo.)

Arthur would be maybe too perfect.

If this is a fantasy Smash thread, I have thought of a couple I wouldn't mind seeing.

I am hoping that Knuckles would be in Brawl. He seems to fit more of the style of fighting this game wants better than Sonic. He glides (by trapping air under his dreadlock), has big fists, can dig as well as climb, and in some games has elemental powers, he's almost as fast as Sonic as well.

The Red Arremer would also be a good fit here. He as many usable powers and maneuvering abilities. Especially if Arthur was ever thrown in. I'd love to see Arthur's "zero-suit" form. Give Samus a run for her money.

If you want a Namco character, I can't really think of anyone other than Klonoa fitting in. I'd rather have Konami's Sparkster in there though. He would fit in well with Sonic and Mario since he debuted at the height of their popularity.

I know, Klonoa would be perfect. Did he have a game on the GBA? I seem to recall.

Yeah. It is called Empire of Dreams.

From what I can remember it felt very similar to Kirby's Dreamland. You suck in enemies with a "wind ring" and toss them around to clear your way through the level. Flies by flapping his ears as wings. Story was that because the emperor suffers insomnia he decrees that nobody in the kingdom be allowed to dream. You collect stars as you run about.

It was a real easy game to clear, which is why I can't really remember more details than the obvious things about it. Real pretty to look at. Colorful, bright backgrounds and detailed animations for all the little things you do. This was a nice thing of Namco since the GBA SP wasn't available at the time this was released.

Bomberman, with a move where he turns into lode runner (and then back), of course.

There were two(!) Klonoa platformers for GBA, although the second one was a little more unconventional than the first. Stil, I'd say both are quality.

There was also an action-RPG with (very) (very) minor puzzle elements called Klonoa Heroes. It was kind of pretty bad.

I've always thought Sparkster would be a perfect fit with the Smash Bros. aesthetic, more than anything in the Sonic cast.

And the ninja cop.

I was just thinking about how much I love Ninja 5-0 last night, actually.

Someone from the Taizo family? Mr. Driller has been on DS and Gamecube.

edit: Wait, or is it the Hori family? Either way, Susumu or Puchi would be good fits to fill the Namco quota.

I'm hoping we get some Wario Ware characters as secrets.

And his mirror (as SSB is wont to do)

I could do more but...

Ghouls n' Ghosts dude: 2 hits to ring-out?

Also, I never realized how disproportionate that KoF guy is (see: biceps bigger than legs). He's got really nice jeans though.

I did think of mentioning those characters you did Shaper, but I don't feel they would fit in with the cast. Particularly those SNK characters. While great in the Vs. series of fighters I couldn't see them playing and gelling well with the Smash Cast.

Now Goemon. That's a character with history and a look that anyone could love. He uses a kiseru as a weapon, can toss projectiles, carries a chain, and can power-up dragon ball style. Plus, he already has a super art. Goemon Impact! I mean if Snake could be in there why not Goemon? He's already crazy popular in Japan and could certainly use more exposure on these shores.

Shit, I thought I saw some one mention him already. And yes, he would be fabulous.

Truly, he is a natural.

Going back to the first post, I can imagine uses for his pipe.
