Is the response time fast enough for if you had something like a 360 hooked-up through VGA? The listed 16 ms time makes me a little leery.

16ms is the worst case scenario, which would result in one frame lag. The only screens that are significantly faster (without accounting for overdrive 'cheating') are TN panels which only display 6 bit-per-pixel color and have awful viewing angles and gamma shift. I have a friend here at school who uses it for his 360 via VGA and he is very pleased with it. I used it with my PS2 and barely noticed the lag on 3rd strike. Unless you're doing hardcore beatmania (in which case no LCD would suit you), this is a fine monitor for your gaming.

I have a large PS2 with the hard drive and network add-on I want to get rid of. Unfortunately it's going out on me, so I think I'll try to trade it in at EB or something. I was wondering if formatting the drive was possible, because I can't recall if it holds sensitive info (credit card information and whatnot) from when I played FF Online.

The idea of a PS2 + add-ons + several games + money = PS3 makes me hurt inside a little.

Dhex, are you getting rid of PC games as well?

i am going to be dumping all sorts of shit:

my gamecube (with ikaruga! and a few other games that didn't suck, including the zelda collection thingy)
my ps2 and all games
some other pc games i haven't sold already

also later this summer, the great vinyl liquidation begins. sigh. i'm not totally happy about that one but this shit just weighs too fucking much.

dhex, I never saw that copy of Project Snowblind. You haven't still got it around, have you?

If not, it's cool.

I'm considering trading away my WCIII Battle Chest, WoW, and The Burning Crusade, if anyone would be interested.

I've still got Dreamfall, too.

I'm going to be all over that PC stuff. And that Zelda Collection, bank account willing.

I've been trading newer PC titles for older ones over at Goozex, and just been on the hunt for them in general, so I can get some no cd cracks and turn my laptop, with its mighty ati x300 graphics card, into a gaming rig.

So Deets and Simplico offered me a bunch of dollars and bought all of that shit. Sorry, Dess! I will do whatever you ask as an apology ok?

Shaper you can still have my micro shit for like $40 now because you lost Umihara. I should probably PM you this.

Are you willing to break up packs? I really want Yggdra Union and Umihara, but have most of the other things in the packs. If not, I may be willing to take your Micro Pack.

If you want to play make a deal shoot me a PM

Alright, fine, I'll start posting some of the other stuff I'm willing to trade off. Note that I'm trying to limit the amount of my crap, so I'd only trade for stuff I have sincere interest in. Or just stuff I want to play, whatever.

Alright!

First, I have a few non-pal games.

Zombie Vs Ambulance, sealed, PS2 (JAP)
Megaman X collection, sealed GC (US)
Policenauts, not sealed, saturn(JAP)
A bunch of region free DS games.
Metroid Prime Hunters, Polarium, Pac N Roll, Megaman ZX, Nintendogs, Sprung

Some PC games
Interstate 76
City Life
Freedom Force + CnC Renegade

And now, this stuff:

Bart's House of Weirdness, this is very rare according to the wikipedia entry. It's also unusual that it was only released for DOS and was created by Konami. One of the better simpsons games.

The Macintosh Games Bible! Chuck full of information about commercial mac games with personality from the authors. Full of lovely interviews, with Chris Crawford saying SimCity was the last innovative game, the myst brothers saying they were working on a new project and would never maked a Myst sequel (lol!) and I'm pretty sure Will Wright said an embarrasing thing or two, too. Comes with a CD.

Official NP SMB3 players guide, prima 007 players guide and an old issue of C&VG.

The first Kings Quest novel! This is the first of an epic series, apparently, I've only ever seen a second installment, though.

Dragonquest silver slime controller, still sealed!!! RARE IMPORT OOP L@@K

Limited edition (only 75000 copies!) of Judgement Rites. Features the CD-ROM version of the game, one of the most popualr episodes on VHS, an official pin, plus a bonus CD full of multimedia stuff including interviews that were never seen prior to this release. Yay!

Alright, that's all so far.

I am so angry that someone else got Umihara.

Like, seriously upset here.

I actually put Polarium (and all my other DS games, so if anyone wants one tell me now) on ebay last night, and took it down for you this morning, so you better have something good because I don't get my 50 cents back.

hey, i've played rengoku ii: very silly s.u.b.t.i.t.l.e. and i don't understand why it got panned so badly. you get to build absolutely ridiculous robots, giving them guns or axes for heads and arms. it actually seemed pretty quality, if a bit barebones in the same way i'm told p.n.03 is. for some reason, it makes me think of base wars whenever i play it, and that can only be a good thing.

also it allows me to fulfill my long-standing fantasy of having my very own robot with a hammer head and grips for hands

I am now the delighted owner of Crazy Bacon Lips' SFF SNES! The excitement tangibly bobs around in the air, like my unskilled self playing Umihara.

But people, you don't understand: Bacon Lips packages with candy. You're just about to toss the styrofoam peanuts and mints start pouring out, like manna from the USPS! Fed Ex got nothing on you, Lipsy!

I'm looking for a few PAL games that I want to play but don't know if they'll run on my system. I'd like copies of Terranigma (SNES), Twin Bee Rainbow Bell (SNES), and possibly Breath of Fire III (PSP). How readily available are any of these and how much do you think they'd cost? Also, would the SNES games mentioned run on a US system with a converter?

I don't know if you realize this or not but the PSP is, inherently, region-free. You can put UMDs (games only, not movies) of any region in your PSP and they will play fine.

Yeah, that's the one I'm less concerned about though. I'm actually only looking for BOF3 if it can be found for cheapish.

Did a little research on that; if you've got a regular SNES, you can mod a 50/60hz and lockout switch, as detailed here. But take note-
Quote:

there are some later motherboard revisions that can't be modified with a 50/60Hz switch, mmmonkey doesn't know how to tell which ones, but if you open it up and PPU1 + 2 have been combined onto one chip then it can't be done. This is also the case with the smaller "Jnr" models of the SNES/Super Famicom.

Otherwise, you need a PAL Action Replay 2 (or higher), which seems to be just about impossible to find these days.

Interesting. See, I've got an adapter that lets me play Japanese games on an American system, but I'm not sure if it works for PAL games or not. Seems like it might, but I have no way to test it. In any case, I'm interested in either/both of those games, so someone respond please!

Yeah, it won't. This is where that whole PAL 60hz thing comes into play, and the PAL AR2 somehow provided a solution for that. Actually, the only thing JP adapter is doing is providing physical compatibility for the JP games, cause they won't fit into the console as is (you can also get into the SNES and cut out a couple tabs that are blocking them, then they'll fit and work fine), but they run on a 50hz system just like American games.

This is the reason I think I might be ok though. The adapter included in this auction looks just like mine and dude claims "You don't need to modify your system in any way to use this, just plug it in and play and it will work on any TV." Does he not know what he's talking about?

He very well may.

Protip: Buy a PAL game cheaper than Terranigma with which to test it!

Protip 2: If it works, tell me where I can get one!

Good point! Any of you PAL mofos out there have a game you want to get rid of? Preferably one that was never released in the US? Any will do. The only ones I noticed from a few lists I looked at were Yogi Bear, Air Cavalry, and Spectre. Any takers (err, givers, as the case may be)?

I'll take it! Whatever it is. And in exchange I'll drop this little nugget: Parappa for the PSP hasn't been released in America yet. Hold out a few months and you shouldn't have any trouble picking it up.

What, that's not good enough? Ok, well I'll look through my stuff later and see what I have to trade.

Taking pictures for this thread I ran across my trade haul. I decided to take a picture! If you're interested in anything, have no idea what something is, or would like to make fun of my game selection, let me know and I'll break it down for you!

Alternate version!

Bumpy Trot - Playstation 2 (JP)
Metal Slug 3 - Playstation 2 (JP)
Rise of the Kasai - Playstation 2 (Unopened. Sequel to Mark of Kri)

Final Fantasy X-2 - Playstation 2 (JP)
Final Fantasy Tactics - GBA (JP)
Unlimited Saga - Playstation 2 (JP)
Xenosaga - Playstation 2 (JP)
Magic Pengel - Playstation 2 (JP)
Castlevania: White Night Concerto - GBA (JP)
Pilotwings - SNES
Uniracers - SNES
Street Fighter II - SNES
Shining Force III: Episode 1- Saturn (JP)

Hey Shaper, what are you looking for in trade for Red Steel, assuming Cycle doesn't want it?

I traded in my copy for Twilight Princess as it seemed to be the game to get at the time; like every other Zelda after Link to the Past I cleared three dungeons and completely lost interest. Meanwhile, I've remembered what fun the sword-less parts of Red Steel were, and sortof want it back.
