Did you see the news story that comic is based on? Insanity.
But this is a good place to talk about friend codes. I'm convinced that news stories like these are the reason Friend Codes exist. Imagine how badly parents would be freaking out if the Wii let just anyone talk to your kid.

This interview with Jack Tretton (CEO of Sony) is what all the hullabaloo is about. It's from issue 213 of EGM.

While I do agree, I wouldn't exactly call the Penny Arcade people Nintendo fanboys (maybe Microsoft ones) as they've been very skeptical of Nintendo up until recently.
Also, I wouldn't consider myself a Nintendo fangirl (in that I would see any benefit in Sony failing and dropping out of the console market) but I still think that's a pretty ridiculous claim to make.

Well, Ok, true story, I have seen well over a dozen PS3s in stores personally. I don't really look for them either. My local EB sat on one for a week before it sold. My local eb also said they didn't sell out of PS3 preorders until a halfhour after opening (on the first preorder fiasco). NOW, I have not seen one single wii in stock. I have had co-workers who had to spend over a week tracking down a wii, most needed to take off work when they finally talked to a manager/worker who stated there would be some in a shipment they were getting that day. My co-workers aren't gamers, and none of them have expressed any interest in getting a PS3, but as far as I can tell it's almost impossible to get a wii unless you treat it like a part time job.
