the nut therein:
Quote: | An interesting case in question, as reported today in the Washington Post, is whether or to what extent so-called virtual property will be accorded legal protection. The story tells of a fashion designer who is earning upwards of $60,000 a year (in real money) for virtual clothing designs she sells to participants in the online fantasy site, Second Life, and who now finds herself the victim of virtual knock-offs. Should Congress or the courts be involved in such matters? |
mr. ridgely is an interesting writer, though we do not often agree. i have no real position on the idea of virtual property tort or its overall legal status when it comes to abstractions within essentially rented property, though i am not surprised that moves have been made to levy additional taxes on it by the feds. _________________
