Yes.

Yes it would.

I also have no idea where the Greyhound depot is in this neck of the woods, either. I should look into that.

Now if anyone is willing to pass by this burg, I am willing to pay for gas one way. Maybe lunch on the way there too.

Pijai, you are in Cleveland, right? I can tell you where the greyhound station is, but yeah, if anyone wants to come see this lovely little burg, i can hook them up with gas for the other way, and another lunch. Umm, so yeah, free tripe for anyone sidetacking to the mistake on the lake?

Tim, if you don't invite Doug, I will. And I'll tell him to get in your car.

Well, no, inviting Doug is most certainly in the cards. The question is whether or not he'll say yes.

You know. Baby and all that!

the catch would be leaving the baby with someone, of course.

if they want to come, we'll just use their car, i guess.

also, any acoustic guitars are welcome. if anyone has a good synthesizer, we can use that, too. and some laser lights. i got some disco-style shit i been tripping on lately.

man, me and toups could seriously pull some serious shit. it'd be the collaboration of the millenium. i could play my "fuck you lullaby", which starts off as a lullaby and then turns into a total fuck-you song

joe just how conducive is your place to an actual rock show? how much volume could we put out before the cops get called? or do you have cool neighbors, or what?

I'm personally of the opinion that no Yamaha acoustics are shitty unless they're the $50 beginner models

I used to have a Yamaha Hillbilly, a long time ago. Man, that was a sweet guitar. Hurt the fingers, though. I had not a fuckin' clue what I was doing with it, at any rate, though it sure sounded nice.

I could really use it right about now.

I'm not going to be able to emotionally budget carrying my Fender Japan Telecaster on the airplane, so I'll steal my brother's shitty Squier Strat.

hell, as far as guitars go, i've got a strat, a johnson strat rip-off, and an acoustic (don't play it much, so can't remember brand, it sounds fine though) to boot. i could bring two amps, but they're kind of small.

again, this hinges on joe's answer to your qustion.

Well, this isn't a gigantic house so stadium style amplification/volume isn't necessary.

That, and TF6 knows and is on good terms with all the neighbors. If there was an issue they'd just come over and say 'Hey, shut up.' and we'd say 'Tim, stop it.' and nothing bad would happen.

Other than maybe hurting your feelings. It is a price we might have to pay.

I'd say the plan is pretty solid though, as long as you don't plan on setting the place on fire.

I'll be in a town by the name of Maryville, which is just about 15 minutes outside of Knoxville. I think I65 is around those parts? Chat town is (god I just typed "Chat town") maybe two hours from Knoxville?

Anyways. If you feel like stopping by, more power. Same goes for thatbox.

ok seriously anybody from new england / maybe jersey (<3 internisus) want to do a caravan type deal? i really like the idea of all of this, i really do.

edit: just for comprehensiveness's sake, i DO have a car, except it gets twenty miles to the gallon and seats maybe three people (four skinny insertcreditites) comfortably so there is no way it is a good option for a fourteen hour drive). your move, umass crowd.

yeah, i'd say to bring all of that stuff. if you don't mind me playing the strat.

i had a Moment of Jazz on the train two weeks ago, and i went home able to finger-pick any melody i hear; it's kind of spiritual

so i'm like 500% better than i was when you last saw me in tokyo

the problem is i think we'll just have to play covers if it's jam-style, something me and toups both know

i'll do a hobo'd up blue hearts cover i guess (i will bring bottleneck and harmonica)

we need to have polls on which songs to cover

i could cover "holland, 1945"????????????

man toups!!

let's cover "little drummer boy" like the flaming lips did on due to high expectations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i want to beat the shit out of that guitar solo

i should pack my big muff

hell this is getting good

edit: auld lang syne motherfuckers

i will begin on an arrangement tonight and garageband it and send it your way toups

yes

and it is the spirit with which i will compose my arrangement

i might need a couple more muffs in sequence

i'll domino the fuck out of this song

we really need the chiptune keyboard for it

I think i'll open the show with my lyrics-endowed grunge cover of the opening march from final fantasy vi

That's not exactly on the way coming from New Orleans, but if Apol's going through Chattanooga that looks like it might work?

yeah, honestly it depends on room in car. i wouldn't mind swinging over to get you, but it's not going to work if you won't fit in my car. so! we may have to figure this out a little later, once i know for sure who all is coming with me. i'll let you know shortly.

yeah, that's fine. i'm sure they'll be plenty of guitars to go around, plus you're better than me anyway.

though! i'm about 129% better since i left tokyo, mainly because i started not giving a shit about power chords and just started playing normal chords again, so i could learn to move my fingers like robert johnson.

if you and toups figure out what songs you want to play, hit me up and i'll try to learn them the best i can before new years.

My friend, if you will look at early thread, you will see I am not allowed.

My car is a dark green two-door 1985 Buick Regal. It's been described as a "boat". It can fit four people comfortably no problem, and, in an emergency, six uncomfortably but without necessitating death.

Besides being uninvited, I am very very poor right now and literally cannot afford the gas, booze, and food. Otherwise, yeah, this sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe next year when I'm cooler?

Google Maps tells me it would take approximately 13 and a half hours to drive to Louisville.

That would be one incredible adventure.

There are rental options in town, if all else fails. I have no idea how much money you'd be putting out for that, however!

Besides being uninvited, I am very very poor right now and literally cannot afford the gas, booze, and food. Otherwise, yeah, this sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe next year when I'm cooler?

My sentiments exactly. Of course, if I can magically find money to make some adjustments to my car there's a chance that I could come, possibly even with interesting people.

If anyone around the Houston area would be interested in getting some kind of New Year's shindig-esque thing together I'd totally be up to it. As of right now, it's looking like I'll be spending New Year's with a pack of menthols and possibly this girl that I work with.

There are rental options in town, if all else fails. I have no idea how much money you'd be putting out for that, however!

Joe I fail to understand how you can live in a house and not have a drumkit. I mean what do you in your free time? Play videogames?!

As mentioned a dozen posts ago...boojiboy and I are willing to pay for the entire trip if anyone has the balls to drive through our neck of the country.

This offer still stands.

According to Mr. Greyhound, the trip to louisville from here is about 8 hours
