Yeah, I suggested that...I think it's probably better than selectbutton, but whatever, selectbutton will be fine. I do, however, agree with James, the domain name should probably be transferred.

(I liked walkthroughwalls ;_; )

Anyone who's played Contra gets the reference, so how about it?

I should've thought to post this back when it "mattered" (though it never mattered, did it my dear 108): http://ajaxwhois.com/

Do not proceed until this is done. If someone has the rug in their hands, they can pull it out from under you. If Tim really has no agenda then he'll have no problem with it. We have no reason to trust him and he is prone to doing crazy shit on the internet.

Seriously get this fucking covered. Please.

Yes.

Wow. Thanks for the vote of confidence!!

It's true that I have no agenda. And it's true that I would gladly transfer the domain to Toups if he had asked me. However, seeing your petty little fear here has made me want to try something else.

That is, this:

I'm not giving the domain to Toups.

Rather, I'm giving him the password to my Yahoo account -- which includes my Yahoo! email account I've used since 1997. He will then enter the domain name panel and change the password. Thus making the domain still registered under my holy Christian name and holy Catholic credit card, yet completely inaccessible to me because of the password.

Also, this means that Toups has control over the largeprimenumbers.com and .org domains as well.

So let's see what shape your concern takes now, Segaboy. Was it my potential power that scared you? Or was it just my name that offends you?

I go out of my way to spend ten dollars to buy a domain name as a Christmas present or some shit for you people. Man. You must really hate me. If your parents gave you cookies on Christmas would you break each one of them open looking for razor blades?

in closing, ;_;

108, now you can send people christmas cookies with razor blades in them and no one will suspect a thing!

Quite the ploy.

Uh yeah. He just gave me the username and password. And I... just changed it.

So um. Domain effectively mine?

And yeah, largeprimenumbers.com is right up there too.

The concern is pretty well warranted considering the circumstances, tim. I mean, I don't care that much, but I'm not very shocked that people would.

Note to self! Research proper oven pre-heating temperatures for cookies roughly a half-centimeter thicker than a razor-blade is tall when stood vertically

Hiding them horizontally wouldn't stab, slice, slide between the teeth, shear the gums, make mouths bleed, fill stomachs with hot lifejuice, et cetera

James would you like some super-thick Christmas cookies? I'm not sure I can fit chocolate chips into them.

If it's any consolation, Tim, I have Toups credit card number.

I kind of took it as a joke during E3. I now keep it at the ready like a single bullet in my six shooter.

Yeah, no.

What cirumstances? I joke a lot about killing the forums though I've never actually done it and I never would. Not trusting me with the domain name is like my assuming that it was everyone on IC who went to 4chan and initiated the kiddy porn bomb.

Toups, has the reserve been met on your PS3 yet?
Because if not, you can go south of the border. Every night. Forever.

Man, I think it'd just be cool to just walk in and like order 200 tacos and a Pepsi. :/

$670. :(

You should've waited until the week before Christmas. I'm sure prices for the thing would've raised a lot more around then. :o

Guys, I think bossrush.com (or net or whatever; they're all available) is an awesome choice.

I think this could really work, for a bunch of reasons:

1. It's short, easy to say and spell, and very available.

2. The term is well known to anyone who is moderately interested in talking about videogames.

3. The term is not excessively video-gamey, and it avoids sounding too generic. There is a balanced level of obscurity to it.

4. The term is easily explained, and doesn't sound goofy or mockable to our non-gaming friends. It's odd enough that someone who hasn't heard the term before might ask a question, instead of jumping to a hardtype conclusion.

5. Boss rushes are strongly but far from exclusively associated with Konami. If I had to guess, I'd say that the presence of a boss rush is positively correlated with the games that we tend to talk about. Thus, we avoid being too game-specific while still expressing an accurate general preference of the community.

6. The top hit for "boss rush" on Google is the wikipedia page; it should be fairly easy to dethrone. It's not like we're duplicating some other site's name.

7. The name can be viewed as a reference to the arrogant/pretentious self-importance ('boss') community members will undoubtedly display loudly and frequently ('rush'). Using IC as a guide, someone new joining the forums will typically experience a "boss rush" of responses to their first, naive posts.

This one has it all.

Yeah, I'm not going to admin your god damned forums. I have better things to do. I think. God. I have admin powers over my own god damned forums and look how much "chaos" I cause with them.

Shit.

Anyway, guys. The site's name is already decided. You can keep suggesting new ones but it's too late to go back now.

Psiga, make me an animated avatar too. :/

Also, I'm listening to some chiptunes. What constitutes a chiptune? Are old NES games' bgm considered chitunes? Or is chiptunes songs composed after the NES generation was over by enthusiasts?

I should just look it up.

I don't want to post much anyway. I really, sincerely don't. I dislike how much time I've spent around here, and don't want to get back into posting a lot in the next forum.

I like the people, but don't like that I don't get other shit done. So I'll have two big annoying images for sig/banner, and will mosey as soon as I've done what I wanted to do.

If it were me, I would add in a couple very subtle ice crystals or bits of ice or frost in blue/white on the clam! Or like, one or two small blue icicles hanging down on the side.
