I am interested in that folder and the movie that is worse than oink.

It's about 130 mb in the end. Anyone mind hosting it for me?

As for that movie... I don't know if its safe for public consumption, at least in these parts.

Hello fellow IC refugees!

Nobody (except maybe Lestrade) will recognize me because all I really participated in posting in was our little local Toronto thread in the General boards.

But, uh, it's nice to see that the forums will make a revival in one form or another!

Drinking a rum & coke!

Guys, do any of you know any girls who really like rum & coke? Like, they would actually order it at a bar? Or buy bottles of rum explicitly to make rum & coke?

I mean, it is such a popular drink among guys of all creeds and castes, yet I don't think I've met a single girl who is into it. Even the manliest drinks have some popularity amongst the ladies, and even the girliest of girly drinks are appreciated by the men.

Yet, the rum & coke just doesn't seem to hold much ground on that side of the fence...

my mom likes it only on vacation though

Oh shit!

Do you think "moms" count as "girls", though?

Yeah, actually, I'm thinking "moms" qualify as "girls" when it comes to rum & coke. Like, I'm thinking it's not a popular mom-drink either...

Wilkes, your mom must be awesome.

Shit, totally not what I meant. 'S what I get for posting from work with someone possibly looking over my shoulder. Whatever NeoIC turns into, I'm not sure I'll want to be there anymore. Selectbutton.net, ProjectInsertCoin or whatever, is going to be far and away more interesting.

I hadn't been around IC very long. I spent a couple of years lurking on and off and the forum was responsible for introducing me to a lot of really interesting games I wouldn't have come into contact with otherwise. I hadn't been around long enough to have a sense for the who's-who. I remember being really nervous when I posted my first time there, but no one was ever a jerk to me actually? so that was good. But yeah, there were some really interesting discussions there, I think I just ignored all the other crap.

like i said earlier in the thread, i'm just a guy looking for a place to have some intelligent discussion about obscure video games. i was enjoying what was there so I hope it continues.

What.

I think there's only like 3 people on IC who know my first name, and those were because of certain circumstances!

(There would be more if anyone had bothered to meet me at GDC!!!)

vote for extra crazy thing

is it as interesting as oink? i've seen stuff much more shocking, perhaps, yet oink stands up to much better analysis.

i wrote an essay about oink after watching it a ton of times. it raises many troubling questions.

Right about what? I mean, he's just being his usual idiot self. Not seeing any great revelations!

Also, lawl, icyclam.

What a silly little man.

He just so doesn't understand how to use power correctly or manage people. He treats it like some tangible thing that's traded and used like a resource... not... well... what it is. It still blows my mind how he can claim to have The Power and yet at the same time claim that it was out of his hands that the people he had The Power over revolted?

It's just incredible to me that he doesn't seem to have learned anything from this...

...what do you think he would do if he could do it all over again? Probably nothing different.

*sigh*

when you really want to save something, you perform surgery. you excise with the intention of healing.

when you want to scuttle it, you start a brush fire and let the flames consume everything.

my point is that icyclam is a lot like a brush fire.

brush fires seldom set themselves.

Okay guys, I know it's really easy to look at things that way but at least based on everyone I've talked to, that's not how things went down. I've talked on the phone about this with brandon a few times and he's insisted that he was convinced that icy had good intentions and would improve the forums. When I mentioned the chaos that resulted he seemed to be genuinely surprised and expressed regret at making him admin. When I asked him about his problems with the forums it sounded like he was more upset with a handful of particularly vocal people than the vast majority.

That is all I know. You can accuse Brandon of lying or faking it if you want, but I am inclined to believe him. This was just a mistake as a result of poor communication in my book.

Anyway, I can't stop anyone from dwelling on this but I'd rather we all just put it behind us.
