Hey, I didn't want to read through all your pages of posts but:

Why are you all so involved in this re-naming process?

Is it really even up to you?

It seems like you are all getting really concerned about it.

Yeah, it's up to all of us. Why wouldn't it be? I mean, I guess Toups could be a dick and call it toupsisyourgod.omfg (hmmmmmm) but I don't think he's going to.

The guy who shut down our old forum can call his new forum whatever he wants. The "refugees" are now banding together to make something that we can all enjoy contributing to without feeling like it's not our place.

The last time we had a forum crash, we had no great unity: Some people went to dontpressstart.com, some to gamersquarter.com, some to largeprimenumbers.com, and icy started his insomnia website. None of them provided quite the same atmosphere as we were used to. (Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.)

Rather than do that again, we're all trying to rally together to make something that we still feel a part of. No "oh gosh, I have to be careful because I'm in somebody else's home" feeling. (cough cough, hello)

that was a quote from a particularly angry aderack, being confrontational and shameless. i can't remember exactly what set him off, though (the person on the recieving end of the statement was being a snarky douche, that i do remember).

...i could provide plenty of counterexample from my unusually observant perspective (something like that).

"hardtype.com" is the only suggestion that doesn't come off like an uninspired pastiche of Insert Credit.
Although I like toiletgoblins because hey, Ghoulies!
Either way I'm going to lurk regardless, because I enjoy the discourse, personalities, and drama.

people like rocketlawnchair? I'm imagining a look for rocketlawnchair a bit more illustrative than most of the other choices but if we're trying to recreate the look of and feel of ic (ugh) by all means go with select button ¯¯¯¯n¯¯¯¯¯;;

hey listen is fantastic

Multiple domain names and banners would be an amazing way to put our "brand" on ice. While the site is growing and establishing itself, we need a strong identity. By all means you could redirect multiple domains, but one would have to be the definitive article for it to make sense to newcomers.

I'm pretty fond of HardType myself, though there is a definite appeal to HeyListen, too.

RocketLawnchair is fantastic, though. If not used in this situation, it should definitely be used elsewhere.

I can't say heylisten without laugh a little, which is a good thing I guess, and hardtype is growing on me.

i really liked the suggestion "attitudeforgains" but maybe that would imply that we're more about shooters than anything else?

since the phrase is so strange though, i feel like we could appropriate it to mean anything we want it to.

gundam ):

And yeah I'm not too happy about the implications of hardtype even though I really like the ideas of calling them the hardtype forums. It's very URL/banner friendly, and it's something that you remember.

Onecoin isn't as url/banner friendly, but I like the implications a bit more.

OneCoin is better without the Project. Still don't like it.

Though at this point, I think its just best to go with InsertCartridge and call it a day. Because we could seriously go for weeks arguing about what direction to take things, and thus far is kinda not going anywhere. Best to just go back to something that's very close to what we are all familiar with. Hate to be a defeatest and all....
