I think we should run with the idea of a real, active frontpage that branches out from video games into...whatever the hell else we feel like writing about, be it blog style or traditional "here are some articles" style. WIth that in mind, I don't think the name should be too video game-y, but there ought to be a hint of it in there. There are some good suggestions in here along those lines, but fuck if I can remember them all.
enemiedartists is pretty fucking sweet, and gamesarentfun makes me lol with glee much like toups, but, yeah, probably not viable. I still kind of like onecoin.com the best, myself.
Regardless!
I shall flip into "name mode" and think of about a hundred of them today, then come back and throw them all down. |

Okay guys.
I have decided that my favorite of these names is currently www.onecoin.com. This is because it fulfills two of these three requirements:
1) is reminiscent of the phrasing and diction of "insertcredit.com" (meaning it's a reference to something concrete which is at least vaguely associated with games)
2) it's catchy and rolls of the tongue
3) it captures the spirit of insert credit: the commonly shared belief that there is more to videogames than just pushing buttons and making things exploded. that blind faith in the raw, unexplored potential of videogames.
It doesn't quite hit that third one. If anyone can think of a name that meets these three rules please let me know. _________________ where were you when nana komatsu got a wii? |

I think it should forward to projectonecoin.com
Quote: | projectonecoin sounds like an awesome site for a bunch of bloggers to post challenges to eachother to play MAME titles. It does not sound anything like a followup to insert credit. Whoever owns this name should really do this. Like, yesterday. |

www.hardtype.com
1. Embodies the scope and reality of our sacred mission (HARDNESS)
2. Relates to our new forum-based status (TYPING)
3. Is a legitimate and undeniable videogaming phrase (where onecoin is not - onecrediting, perhaps) with a mildly esoteric bent to it much in the manner "insert credit" was becoming a rare phrase of decreasing usage (HARDTYPE)
I feel that this is a good name, and also is punchier and less awkward than onecoin.com. _________________

god why not just call it DIEHARD GAMEFAN
you know what let's fucking rumble why not
www.enemied-artist.net
1) is reminiscent of the phrasing and diction of insert credit, also an uncommonly lovely piece of engrish and the most obscure possible fighting game reference
2) snappy as hell
3) the unique usage and role of the phrase itself (mysterious KoF challenger come to fight HK Lovebot from beyond the stars) embodies our burning spirits _________________

I hereby reallocate aggregate support behind Hardtype. It sounds like the name for a chic print-on-demand independent publishing house and has just the right pinch of subconscious phallic suggestion. _________________

The best part of enemied-artist is it has that vague bit of pretention that we all know and love. Also, fire tribute = win. And if we turn the site into Culture Blog Lite or something like that, the artist bit will be awesome. Also we are cantankerous, so enemied is great. Fuck, I'm really starting to like this one. |

Nail is hit on head I T T.
it's actually quite catchy, nice and short, even number of letters, all those good things. Could make for some nice banners too. It has attitude. I like attitude. _________________

Dark Steve I want Enemied Artists to be our fuzz-trance bandname when we write our song called "Napalm Buzzgroove Deathfuck 95 [LOVE LOVE BABY]" and take it to the top of the hit parade. Use the right tool for the right job, in this case a rock tool for rocking. _________________

Why would anyone go to a site called enemied-artist to talk about video games? It doesn't even make any sense. I mean, my website doesn't make any sense either. But good luck getting a 3 letter .com or .net these days. |

Schild, your domain makes sense in the context of computer games, I think.
Enemied-artist makes absolutely no sense in the context of videogames, period, and I have no idea why anyone is supporting it. _________________

I'm confused about who the old guard and new guard on IC is anyways.
I'm pretty sure 99% of the forums thinks they're in the new guard, and thinks at least 70% of everyone else is in the old guard.
It's a complicated matter! |
