Baron Patsy, I think that you are completely amazing for your age. You have taste and smarts that would suit an intelligent man of 20-23, at least. While you have certain social problems in real life, I feel certain that you will overcome them and turn into something amazing in just a few years. Something that I'd be glad to have the privilege (thanks dhex) to know. You will have a very interesting life, if you let yourself have it, and I'm pretty sure that you will.

If you ever want to talk about something, anything, just give me a holler on AIM.

Yeah, I should probably add you to my 360 list. YOu know we have a thread for that here.

Well, you know, you're already on mine! So I kind of think I'm on yours too? Or maybe that's not how it works, in any case, let's do Gears of War sometime. Or maybe Doom.

Probably! I haven't touched my 360 in like two weeks.

You always struck me as Holy Bible kind of guy. Damn Guardian I thought the Richey-era Manics would be right up your alley.

I liked Lifeblood guys. It was rather elegiac. Nobody else did I don't think.

Mr Toups, I think you're a smart man of good tastes and very well chosen words. When we played doom together you used a word that, although the particular word isn't one that I remember, truly amazed me. I didn't know people could use words this advanced in real conversations! You've made me realise that learning to speak the english language isn't something that you can ever finish, and that I should keep on practicing, and that I'm not as good at it as I thought myself to be. You've also said things about games in our conversations that have made me think hard about things, and made me slightly ashamed not to have thought harder about certain things, or that my opinions on certain games weren't more advanced than they, in fact, were. You're a good guy, and I hope we can continue to be friends over the internet, and that we can play Live games with eachother more times. Talking with you almost always feels like a bit of a learning experience.

Thanks stotel-hime. You are fun to talk to because you don't back down on your opinions which makes for good discussion and you are very civil.

Someday I promise to unlock that extra hard drive space on my xbox.

I'm not exactly migrating here or anything (kind of feel bad about registering to just say this), and I'm only halfway reading through this depressing thread, but......was any kind of backup of the forums actually made and finished, whether by Brandon or someone else?

Because if so, I'd really appreciate a copy, even if it's hundreds and hundreds of MB in size. There are a lot of things from the boards I want to save, and I didn't have the foresight to go after them when I had the chance.

I think I'm still kind of in shock. Like some people here, I think I kind of had an emotional investment in the forums, for better or worse.

You people always manage to get everything wrong somehow. I've been laughing my ass off reading this thread since yesterday. Amazing stuff. Extralife's and Rud13's posts are the most outright hilarious ones, but everyone has their own comedic value. About the only people here who know what they are talking about are 108 and dhex. Toups gets some things right, but fails at a fundamental level.

As for dessgeega:

Of course you can own a community for christsake! I could give you a ton of good examples, but here's one that will only serve to stoke the hatred against me even mroe:

Alcatraz.

I guess icy is just that much smarter than me, what with his fancy degrees and all. You know, I bet if he worked really hard at it he could have even gotten into a school of nearly the same level as where I went to college!

(Normally I hate this kind of argument, but deference to higher authority is something that people of lower intelligence tend to cling to.)

Icy, the more you deride us the more you demonstrate that you don't understand how you could turn a majority of a forum, even those initially in support of you, against you.

I kind of envy this sort of empty confidence people can dish up on the internet. I mean, if you were to translate this same dialogue into, you know, spoken language, what kind of expression would be given in turn? Can't keep a straight face through that. I can't feign it as well as icycalm and that general brand of person, though I wish I could.

I tried explaining this to someone who has no point of reference to Insert Credit whatsoever. She didn't really understand at all. It was sort of funny watching her mind tick over, and come to a conclusion that seemed to be less "I understand, continue" and more I wonder if I'm having fish for dinner?" Even the whole kiddy porn thing didn't bother her, so I'm starting to suspect she is, infact, stupid.

In other news: I totally had an audition for a commercial today. It was pretty cool. I almost got lost trying to find the casting agency.

I plan to be rocking the avatar in celebration pretty soon.

I finally made my way through this whole thread, and I'm slightly overwhelmed (ho ho ho); I hate to say it, but I'm a bit upset that Insert Credit is gone. I feel like I want to say more, but I really have no reason to. This whole turn of events is pretty surreal. When people on #insertcredit told me what happened, I didn't believe it; it sounded too fantastically bizarre. Maybe I was right not to believe it.

On a closely related note, what did Captain EO and Aderack get into it about? I missed that little conflict completely.

I've always liked the Insert Credit frontpage, but even considering all of their problems, the forums were significantly better than the main site. For a long time, It hasn't seemed like anyone gave much of a shit about making real features for the site proper.

you know, what with everyone blaming bad posters and recap and brandon and icy, it seems we're missing what actually is to blame:

e3 being cancelled.

i knew it would have effects rippling throughout the industry for years to come.
