EDIT BY SHAPER: In an attempt to clean up the stickies, this will also be where new Xbox Tags are posted too. If you want to see the old ones, check THIS THREAD

Fresh from the Xbox Live Gamercard thread, it's the Wii-connect 24 number thread! If you were lucky enough to get a Wii, post your Wii-connect 24 number here. My number is:

5259-9926-7327-9538

So what does this number do for you? For those unfamiliar, there's a system option on the Wii console to create a Mii character. This character can then be transferred to other players over the internet, allowing it to pop up randomly in certain games. It's pretty cool! So lets share Mii!

-Wes

I'm not on all the time--I finally found some hacked firmware and drivers for Nintendo's WiFi USB adaptor that turned my PC into a general-purpose access point, but the PC is in my bedroom and the idea of WiFi death rays emanating from it while I sleep is pretty creepy, so I only have the device on when I'm playing. I'll add everyone ASAP!

So Buy Nothing Day was going just fine until Toys R Us called to tell me my Wii had arrived! Much worse than last year when I accidentally bought a chocolate bar.

I don't know, the fact that your VC games are only tied to your console, not your Nintendo log-on name, has me pretty worried that Nintendo screwed up on getting anything on-line related, correctly.

EDIT: I have everyone in my address book now.

I am enthusiastic about sending picture and Mii's and messages. I even sent a special LIMTEDITION Thanksgiving Mii to everyone from the IC Wii thread. Nobody cared though...

my codec frequency is 4136-2928-6336-5061

I'll add everyone here.

Weirdly, I've added everyone in this thread, and the only one who has shown up in black is friedchicken. It feels like nobody loves me! More likely is that Nintendo's servers are dying under the stress, I guess.

And I don't see your Mii anywhere, friedchicken! I kinda figured everyone would just show up in the Mii Parade, but maybe Miis are more fickle than that.

Cool! I'm glad I at least showed up on somebody's Wii. Oddly enough, ApM, yours hasn't arrived, at least not as of a few inutes ago. I think it's more likely that Nintendo tried to make it at least a little bit organic and didn't have them all just rush the place as soon as you add a Wii friend.

I've had most show up unannounced, but then two from Shaper arrived by mail! Awesome.

Anybody know if they plan to release more Mii customizations? I saw hats, etc. shown on the intro screen, but they didn't show up as options. It would be nice if Nintendo would release upgrades to the Mii software along with firmware updates.

Cool.

Hey, what happens if you try to send the same Mii twice? I've lost track of what I've sent who, so it'll probably happen, if it hasn't already.

If you send the same mii twice, the person who recieves it is told that they already have that mii, and the one they just recieved replaces it. Or maybe it just gets discarded? Same effect.

I've kind of sat outside this forum for close to two years now... Yet another avid lurker.

I would love to start contributing to the site because I think you guys have some amazing perspectives on video games and it is starting to feel weird to not respond to some of these threads. So - I've finally registered and hope to be active here in the coming weeks!

All that preamble out of the way - I am one of the lucky ones who were able to get a launch Wii and would love to add some of yours and see some of the Mii creations!

My console ID is 8083 5371 5767 6700

(I'll add all the above IDs the next time I turn on the console)

I have about 6-7 Miis available for parade... most are typical (me, the girlfriend, the best friend, etc.) but there are a couple of interest: the infamous BugMan (random creation), Robert Smith (from the Cure) and Bruce Campbell/Ash are stumbling around.

[edit: i've added everyone above this post. wiiiiiii.][/b]

My Wii number is:

8749 9109 9732 3653

I have, uh, my family. And Mario and Luigi! That's all. Btw, do you guys know how to attach a Wii to a Nintendo.com account? It kinda makes me nervous that I have Wii points on this thing and it's not attached to an account w/ my name on it at Nintendo.

Edit:

I added all of you. This kinda makes me excited for an online game now...

As stated in another thread, your account is attached to your wii. They've made it pretty clear that you'll be able to keep your stuff even in the event that you have to send your console in for repair or something. I don't know what their policy is if you get your console stolen or something, though. I would call and ask, personally.

Maybe I'll have to register my Wii to make the property of my newly acquired VC games a little more secure. Those sneaky bastards.

Also, TG16 games rock.

Your VC games are only tied to your console. Your nintendo.com accout, even when tied to your wii as mine is, won't make a difference if your console dies. Also, if your console dies in the future and buying a new-used Wii is cheaper than repairs are you can't transfer them. So, really, it makes no difference at all.

EDIT: This is just currently. Hopefully nintendo gets their shit together. Like, possibly being able to tie your nintendo.com account to your Wiimote and being able to download and play a game at any wii your remote is connected to. I mean, ultimatly that would be amazing.

Is anyone getting my Miis through the parade? All mine are by "DJH."

I wonder because I keep getting the same Miis in my parade over and over, as though there aren't that many out there. But I keep making new Miis, so presumably they should be showing up in other peoples' parades.

Silent Matt, we must trade Robert Smiths!

Of course! I'll send my version to you as soon as I get home (4 hours or so)

edit: has anyone else found that you can't tell who created the Mii that you are looking at in your parade? THAT is a huge oversite on Nintendo's behalf.... I've got like 10 people struttin' their stuff and, unless the creator used their online handle as the character's nick, I have no idea who created any of them. Which is, most definitely, lame.

edit: david - thanks for the miis! haha, your robert is pretty sweet. I just sent mine to you. enjoy!

I've got at least two of yours. Maybe more, but those two appear to have arrived by 'mail', and the ones in the parade don't say who made them.

Wow, I've got 16 in the parade and 9 in the plaza! It's a Mii explosion!

Yeah, I've been getting yours. I have like 50 in my parade just from the IC/TGQ crowd. I have a few out there but most are not attributed.

That's awesome, 50!? I have just 11, and it was lower until recently.

Yeah, I wonder if I should have used something other than DJH, since most people won't know my name, but... better to be consistent, now I guess.

I am enthusiastic about sending picture and Mii's and messages. I even sent a special LIMTEDITION Thanksgiving Mii to everyone from the IC Wii thread. Nobody cared though...

I'll add everyone here.

So that's who made it! My brother was on the Wii when I received it and I had no idea who sent it. I thought it may have been a gift from Nintendo...Until I found out none of my other friends got it.

I didn't get one, Wilkes!

The lengths you take to exclude me...

So, I've gotten a couple of Charlie Browns, and a second Kim Jong-Il to respond to the one I did. Also got a couple of Robert Smiths.

I sent The Devil to a few people, but don't remember who.
