When I get bored at work, I draw hearts with my mouse gestures trails on my screen. Does that count? |

Reviving this thread with something!!
These were tests to see what color lipstick/eyeshadow would look better for Peach in that Mario comic. I think I went with pink though I don't remember now. _________________

If we're doing girls who have day jobs in the Legend of Zelda series, can I request someone does Mayor Dotour's receptionist from Majora's Mask? Because she is a HONEY. |

I have a comic request! I was in EB Games today standing around while an employee talked someone out of getting a PSP on the grounds that it would break easily when I came up with the idea for a series of comics where buying normal stuff becomes more like buying games. Here are some topic ideas:
An employee tries their hardest to talk you out of buying something you're interested in.
An employee asks you if you want something used to save $2 and pulls out something that doesn't even come in a box and is totally scratched up.
An employee sells you something new but without shrink wrap and puts about 30 stickers on it behind the counter before putting it in a bag (I'm going to start requesting that they go in the back and find me cases without price tags next time I buy something new).
An employee blatantly misinforms someone about what's available.
An employee regretably informs you that the cost of your "10% off of used stuff" card went up in price from $5 to $15, thanks to being absorbed into a larger company.
And that's all just stuff that happened today!

That's what I do. The first game I ever bought from EB was SotC and I went to the desk and simply asked "Do you have a copy out the back that doesn't have shit all over it?" and they found one for me! My local EB is actually pretty cool. I mean, apart from all the head office bullshit. |

DUDES
Blue: Sub-Zero
Yellow: Scorpion
Green: Reptile
Purple: Rain
Grey: Human Smoke
Red: Ermac
Black: Noob Saibot
CHICKS

Wasn't there a grey female ninja in PS1 MK Trilogy, or did I dream that or read it as part of a Wikipedia hoax or something? |

Swimmy, I didn't even notice that. That's unintentional genius. "Purple raaaain... purrrrrple rain..!"
For more funny, watch this!
And OtakuPunk, the ninja you mention is probably Khamelon/Chameleon, who was female in the N64 version and male in the PS1 version. |

Holy crap, ONScripter! And the insani build, no less!
So, how's programming a title from scratch in ONScripter? I've done some minor translation work in pre-existing visual novels, but I've never tried anything from scratch, though I'm thinking about trying my hand at a short visual novel and am divided between ONScripter and another scripting system. This other system seems pretty easy to just pick up and use, but the meticulously translated documentation for ONScripter is pretty hard to argue with. Did you find it fairly easy to use? |

Oh definitely, for what ONscripter is capable of doing, it's totally worth the trouble of tinkering with and figuring out. That reference documentation they supply is really incredibly thorough, but there's still a lot of experimentation that's needed to really sort it all out.
I really liked ONscripter because it reminded me of HTML scripting. I mean, it's not exactly the most beginner-friendly program to use, but I really liked the hassle of trying to figure things out using references from other translated games. It's like there's so much you can do with it if you get into it and tear it apart.
Of course, I imagine there's plenty of more powerful visual novel engines out there. This was just the one I ended up using because it happened to be around. _________________

So I finally have something interesting to talk about!!
My video has been posted on the front page of Youtube!! :D
I wish there was some way to extrapolate the attention I get from this video to all the stuff I do overall and from there somehow make myself into an internet superstar. That'd be kind of nice.
Though it'd kind of suck to be like one of those internet superstars you show your friends and then laugh about, like that one kid who had a website that went "HELLO MY FUTURE GIRLFRIEND THIS IS WHAT I LOOK LIKE PLZ PM ME AT SOMETHING @ YAHOO.COM" _________________

A number of dating sim games have a "hands free" mode where text is scrolled automatically and sometimes choices are made as well, because the user wants to have both his (or her) hands free to... uh... sculpt clay figureines (yeah that's it). |

I'll try to figure out how to do an option like that in the next visual novel I make.
But that kind of takes away the whole player/game interactivity to the experience, doesn't it? _________________

Yes, it does. But consider the audience for visual novels and dating sims for a minute. Well mostly the eroge ones have this, but, you know. |
