I've only been playing for about a day, but I can already tell it's a pretty Wild World. My Wi-fi access is limited, but here's my code. Share yours!

I just bought this for my wife yesterday for The Month of Christmas. (Which is a glorious tradition, I must say.)

Needless to say, I haven't had the opportunity to touch it yet.

so i was with my mother earlier, and the subject of animal crossing came up. and i said that matt was wearing a ninja hood, and wes offered me oranges and maybe peaches (and even coconuts if all goes well), but i don't have the game yet and i can't hang out and i'm sad. so my mother sighed, got up, and walked over to a pile of packages, and picked up an envelope and tossed it to me.

animal crossing was inside. apparently she was planning on giving it to me as a gift, but she couldn't bear the thought of me being away from my gamer's quarter buddies!

i still don't have a wi-fi connector, though. feh.

In the manner of all things great I passed the hood onto ApM just an hour or so ago. I now have a single pigtail sticking out of the top of my bald head. It is creepy.

Oh! ApM is in my town and my WFC gates are open

My coconut tree grows strong and I have apples.

Glad you got the game Dess!

i have started the game. i live in the town of now here (on the gamecube version i lived in here). there's a punk rock mouse living in my town, and an adorable penguin, and a purple duck. i have a really hard time finding them when they're wandering around.

also, i keep accidentally picking up flowers as i walk. which is strange.

i'd have played for longer than i did, but it's late and the tailors are closed. and designing clothes is my favorite part of the game. i think tomorrow i might transcribe some from my gamecube game, just to get me started. though i'm a little afraid of turning it on after all this time.

I got the game recently as well!

I'm having trouble bringing it online though. I blame my weak internet router.

Also, is it just me or does anyone else have a town full of belligerent animal assholes?

I have yet to get a copy for myself, but I probably will for Christmas. I can't find myself playing it for too long though; I didn't play the GC version for more than a few months.

Are you referring to Animal Crossing or to the wi-fi connector? I was under the impression that the wi-fi connector was only available direct from Nintendo.com (just like Electroplankton will be)

so this afternoon i gathered a bunch of apples, sold them, and used the proceeds to rent out the able sisters' equipment for a while. i copied over my two favorite designs - a a set of overalls and a gothy top and skirt combo - and then i designed an original hat. it's a pointed hat with gameboy-colored stripes that swirl to the tip. i made a few other...accquisitions too. and i designed a new flag.

the mayor gave me a free fishing pole because it was the fishing tourney today, and that's more than giuliani or bloomberg have ever done for me.

that's an article waiting to happen.

animal crossing is one of those games that's interesting to hear people talk about though i'd never want to actually play it myself. which is a strange thing, no doubt.

all joking aside, at some point someone will invent a vr-style real doll experience. we'll probably live to see it, too.

i dunno, though. i enjoy hearing people talk about certain games. it's cool.

i'm with you on this one, actually.

but, yeah. sometimes i'll turn on animal crossing just to hang out in my house (inside my actual house). just to enjoy inhabiting a virtual space. my new joy in the ds game is watching sprite clouds drift across a gradient sunset, a curtain of stars slowly losing their gamma transparency.

i should get up early tomorrow and watch the dawn.

Waking up to watch a virtual sunset, huh. You should watch a real sunset at the same time. I mean, as long as you don't live in a world of perpetual darkness and all.

I would love to join you all in a massive Animal Crossing rockfest, but unfortunately the government wants all my money so it'll have to wait.

Best Buy was sold out on Sunday when I went. I can only assume that Targets and Walmarts are fully stocked though.

Interestingly when in line to check out of Best Buy there were close to 20 people in line. 3 of them had Red DS (Mario Kart version) on them. I am really supprised at the DS, and I don't think this will stop anytime soon.

They had a few copies Saturday night sucka. They even had a line forming outside for Xbox 360s. That were scheduled to be sold the next morning at 9:00 AM. And the line was full when I got there at 6:00 PM....

Crazy!

How are you doing those guardians? I'm not sure about the customization options, but I didn't think they extended past clothes and hats. Or do they just appear as rectangles with the pattern when you drop them on the floor?

I may get this in the distant future. I rented the GC once and I enjoyed it but I quickly realized it's not a game to rent: it's something best enjoyed in small intervals over a long period of time. The multiplayer aspect seems cute.

you can place any pattern you've designed as a tile on the ground. clothes, hats and umbrellas can be designed too, and there are a few more options i don't have access to yet.
